I Have A Dream

As we enter a New Year, the month of January offers the promise of new beginnings and in it we’ll also see the celebration of Martin Luther King Jr the heroic activists, leader in the civil rights movement and minister.

With roots back to 1971, MLK Day has been an official American holiday observed in all 50 States since 2000.  So great was his example, the day is noted by non-Americans in recognition of the moral strength and rhetoric King offered to the world.

Martin Luther King Jr Day will be celebrated this year on January 16th.  In recognition of his achievements and contributions, the book club will read his famous and powerful I Have A Dream address given at Lincoln Memorial during the 1963 March on Washington.

The speech can be found in script and audio here.
